Tangential rolling system B13-VB
Efficiency leap in fitting production
The switch from conventional thread cutting to the high-performance B13-VB tangential roll system has resulted in a significant optimization of thread production for M20×1.5 reducer fittings. The machining time per component has been drastically reduced, while process reliability and quality have been increased.
TASK
Reduction of machining time
- Application: Reducing nozzle/ M20×1,5
- Material: 1.4305 (tensile strength 750 N/mm2)
- Lot size: 250,000 pieces per year
Current process:
- Thread pre-cut and finish-cut
- Machining time per part approx. 15 seconds
Solution
- Process changeover to thread rolling with tangential rolling system B13-VB
Tangential rolling system B16F
Productivity without compromise – thread rolling behind a collar
In the manufacture of M16×1.5 reduction adapters, thread rolling behind a collar placed particularly high demands on process reliability and precision. The use of the B16F tangential rolling system completely replaced the previous pre-cutting and finishing processes. The result: drastically reduced machining times, maximum thread quality, and a robust process.
